Our team recently completed an extensive roofing overhaul that transformed an outdated and hazardous roof into a safe, efficient, and contemporary structure. The project began with the erection of scaffolding, ensuring secure access for our operatives throughout the process. The old roof covering was systematically stripped and disposed of into a skip, adhering to proper waste management standards. A significant safety concern—an obsolete and dangerous chimney on the back elevation—was carefully dismantled brick by brick below roof level, eliminating the risk it posed. Additionally, defective fascia boards and guttering were removed to prepare for a complete upgrade.
The loft space was thoroughly cleaned out, paving the way for the installation of high-quality insulation to enhance thermal efficiency. New black UPVC fascia boards were fitted, paired with sleek black UPVC ogee-style guttering, delivering a modern, low-maintenance finish. To ensure proper ventilation and structural support, eave vents and felt support trays were installed, followed by Vent 3 PRO breathable membrane and treated battens, forming a robust and weather-resistant base. A GRP terrace join was seamlessly integrated for a watertight connection, while Code 6 lead valleys, cut to 1.5-meter lengths to prevent splitting, were meticulously fitted for durability.
For the roof covering, we selected Redland Mini Stonewold tiles, complemented by a maintenance-free dry fix verge system at the gable ends, offering both practicality and a polished appearance. Code 5 lead flashings were expertly applied around the remaining chimney stacks, sealed with flexible lead sealant within the brick joints to ensure a reliable barrier against moisture. The project was completed with dry ridge systems, mechanically fixed at each ridge for superior strength and a clean, modern look.
Upon finishing, the scaffolding was dismantled, and the job site was kept clean and tidy throughout—a reflection of our unwavering commitment to professionalism. This renovation not only eliminates safety hazards but also delivers a stylish, high-performance roof designed for longevity.
