New Slate Roof - Hoylake, Wirral.
Our team recently completed an outstanding slate roof installation for a small new build property, exemplifying our dedication to precision craftsmanship and cutting-edge roofing solutions. The project commenced with the erection of scaffolding, providing safe and efficient access for our operatives throughout the installation process. To ensure optimal ventilation and perimeter protection, fascia vents and eave trays were expertly fitted, laying a strong foundation for the roof’s performance.
We installed Vent 3 PRO Cromar breathable membrane, paired with blue graded battens, creating a resilient and weatherproof underlayment designed for longevity. The roof was then installed with new Brazilian 20 x 10-inch slates, fixed with copper nails to prevent nail fatigue and ensure enduring stability. Specially crafted clay Portuguese starter hips were incorporated, tailored to the roof’s design for a seamless transition at the hips. The installation was crowned with a new Portuguese clay ridge system, implemented using a modern dry fix method. Each ridge and hip tile was mechanically fixed, with mitres drilled and secured, delivering both modern structural strength and a traditional aesthetic.
Upon completion, the scaffolding was dismantled, and the site was maintained in a clean and orderly condition throughout the project—a testament to our professionalism and attention to detail. This new build slate roof not only enhances the property’s architectural elegance but also provides a durable, high-performance covering built to withstand the test of time.
